Laser Hair Removal in McKinney, TX from Hartwater Aesthetics
What Is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a treatment that uses concentrated laser energy to selectively destroy hair follicles, producing long-term reduction of unwanted hair on most body areas. The treatment is clinically classified as permanent hair reduction rather than permanent hair removal, because some patients see complete cessation of hair regrowth in treated follicles while others see significantly reduced hair density that may require occasional maintenance treatments over time. Laser hair removal is distinct from temporary methods (waxing, shaving, threading, depilatory creams), from intense pulsed light (IPL) hair removal, and from electrolysis. Each has trade-offs that we discuss honestly during consultation.
Laser hair removal is one of the few treatments at Hartwater that sits outside the Three Pillars of Facial Aging framework, because it addresses a quality-of-life concern rather than an aging concern. The same clinical rigor that we apply to our aging-focused treatments applies here. Patients receive physician-directed medical oversight, treatment from Certified Laser Technicians who teach energy-based protocols nationally, and continuity of provider across the full six-session protocol.

At Hartwater Aesthetics, laser hair removal is delivered on the DiolazeXL platform by InMode. Treatment is performed exclusively by our two Certified Laser Technicians, Stephanie Robertson, CLT (Laser Safety Officer) and Tiffany Byres, LMA, CLT, each with thousands of energy-based and non-invasive aesthetic procedures. Both Stephanie and Tiffany teach energy-based protocols nationally through Hartwater's affiliated CARE Institute. Initial consultations are conducted by our Clinical Manager, Lindsey Burris, RN.

HOW DIOLAZE HAIR REMOVAL WORKS AT HARTWATER AESTHETICS
DiolazeXL by InMode is a blended-wavelength diode laser designed specifically for laser hair removal. The device combines two diode wavelengths in a single delivery, with one of the largest treatment spot sizes on the market. The combination of efficacy, patient comfort, and treatment speed makes DiolazeXL one of the leading laser hair removal platforms available today.
The diode laser energy passes through the surface of the skin and is selectively absorbed by the melanin pigment in the hair follicle. The absorbed energy heats the follicle to a temperature that destroys its ability to produce new hair, while the surrounding skin tissue is left undamaged. This is the principle of selective photothermolysis. Built-in skin cooling delivered through the applicator head protects the surface of the skin and significantly improves patient comfort during treatment.
Hair grows in cycles, and laser hair removal only works on hair follicles that are in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. At any given time, only a portion of the hair in a treatment area is in the active growth phase. Multiple sessions spaced approximately six weeks apart are required to capture each follicle during its active growth phase. The standard Hartwater protocol is six sessions per treatment area. Patients with darker hair color or darker skin tone may require additional sessions, which we discuss at consultation and after the initial protocol is complete.
The Patient Call Button on the applicator allows you to pause or adjust the treatment at any time. There is no anesthesia required, no significant pain, and no downtime. Most patients describe the sensation as a rapid succession of warm pulses, with the built-in skin cooling making the treatment significantly more comfortable than older laser hair removal devices.

WHY DIOLAZEXL: BLENDED-WAVELENGTH SAFETY ACROSS ALL SKIN TONES
Many laser hair removal providers in the McKinney market still use single-wavelength devices, such as alexandrite lasers at 755nm or Nd:YAG lasers at 1064nm. Each of these wavelengths has limitations. The 755nm alexandrite wavelength is highly absorbed by melanin in the skin as well as melanin in the hair, which can cause adverse reactions in patients with deeper skin tones. The 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength is safer for deeper skin tones but is less effective on lighter or finer hair. A single wavelength forces a trade-off between safety and efficacy.
The DiolazeXL blended-wavelength delivery combines two diode wavelengths in a single treatment pulse. The shorter wavelength is well-absorbed by hair melanin for effective follicle destruction across most hair types. The deeper wavelength penetrates more deeply with reduced absorption in the skin's surface melanin, which significantly improves safety for patients with deeper skin tones. The combination delivers both the efficacy of shorter-wavelength diode lasers and the safety profile of longer-wavelength systems.
Patients with deeper skin tones, including Fitzpatrick IV, V, and VI, have historically been told that they were not safe candidates for laser hair removal. With DiolazeXL and a properly trained provider, laser hair removal is possible across the full Fitzpatrick skin tone spectrum. Hartwater's two Certified Laser Technicians, Stephanie Robertson, CLT and Tiffany Byres, LMA, CLT, are trained on the full range of skin tone considerations and adjust treatment parameters accordingly. The right device combined with the right provider training is the difference between a candidacy refusal and a successful six-session protocol.

COMMON LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT AREAS
DiolazeXL can be safely used on most body areas with unwanted pigmented hair. Treatment areas at Hartwater are organized into three size tiers (small, medium, and large), with pricing reflecting the size of the area treated. The most common treatment areas are described below. Self-route to the section that matches your case.
Brazilian, Bikini, and Intimate Areas
Brazilian and bikini line treatments are among the most requested laser hair removal areas at Hartwater. Both treatments fall into the Medium Area pricing tier. Patients receiving intimate area treatments at Hartwater are seen by either Stephanie Robertson, CLT or Tiffany Byres, LMA, CLT, both of whom are women. While we do not require patients to specify a provider preference, the structural composition of our laser hair removal team aligns with what most patients prefer for these treatments. Privacy provisions are standard practice during intimate area sessions, and the Patient Call Button on the applicator gives patients full control over the pace of the treatment at all times.
Underarms, Arms, and Legs
Underarm laser hair removal is one of the most common starter treatments at Hartwater, often combined with bikini line or Brazilian into a single appointment. Underarms fall into the Medium Area pricing tier. Arms (upper or lower) and legs (upper or lower) also fall into the Medium tier. Full arms and full legs are categorized as Large Area treatments. Patients commonly combine multiple areas into a single visit for time efficiency, and combination pricing may apply at consultation.
Face and Upper Lip
Upper lip is one of our most common facial treatments and is priced in the Small Area tier. Full face is priced in the Medium Area tier. Facial laser hair removal is common for women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s addressing age-related hair changes, as well as for patients whose facial hair is genetic. Facial sessions are sequenced thoughtfully so they do not conflict with other heat- or light-based facial treatments. Patients combining facial laser hair removal with treatments like IPL photofacials or Morpheus8 work with the clinical team to establish a treatment calendar that respects appropriate spacing between energy-based treatments.
Laser Hair Removal for Men
Men's laser hair removal is a growing category at Hartwater. The most common men's treatment areas are back (full or upper and lower), chest, shoulders, neck, and beard line shaping. Pricing follows the same three-tier structure as women's treatments. Full back and chest fall into the Medium-to-Large Area tiers depending on the surface area being treated. Men's laser hair removal uses the same DiolazeXL device and is delivered by the same Certified Laser Technician team, with the same six-session protocol.
Smaller Areas: Chin, Ears, Sideburns, Hands, and Feet
Smaller treatment areas, including chin, ears, sideburns, areola, hands and fingers, and feet and toes, fall into the Small Area pricing tier. These are often used as standalone treatments for patients addressing specific concerns, or as add-on areas combined with a larger primary treatment. Small Area packages are the most economical entry point into laser hair removal at Hartwater.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL VS OTHER HAIR REMOVAL METHODS
Laser hair removal is one of several long-term hair removal options. The table below compares DiolazeXL against the most common alternatives so patients can see where each fits.
Electrolysis is the only FDA-recognized method classified as "permanent hair removal" rather than "permanent hair reduction." Electrolysis can also treat any hair color, including grey, blonde, and red hair that laser hair removal cannot target because the laser requires pigment in the hair shaft to work. The trade-off is that electrolysis treats one hair follicle at a time and is impractical for large body areas. For most patients with pigmented hair on most body areas, laser hair removal is the better practical choice. We refer patients with grey, blonde, or red hair to a trusted electrologist when that is the right answer.
IPL hair removal uses broad-spectrum light rather than concentrated single-wavelength laser energy. IPL hair removal is generally less effective than diode laser hair removal for most hair types and is not recommended for darker skin tones. Hartwater offers IPL through our Lumecca platform for pigmentation and rosacea treatment, but for hair removal, DiolazeXL is the right tool. We do not offer IPL hair removal.
Hartwater does not offer waxing, threading, or other adjacent grooming services. These treatments fall outside the practice's clinical positioning. Our recommendation for hair management between laser hair removal sessions, and for any hair removal needs outside of laser, is shaving.

WHY HARTWATER FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL IN MCKINNEY
Five things distinguish laser hair removal at Hartwater Aesthetics from the high-volume laser hair removal providers in the McKinney area.
Stephanie Robertson, CLT and Tiffany Byres, LMA, CLT: Certified Laser Technicians Trained Through the CARE Institute
Stephanie Robertson, CLT serves as Hartwater's Laser Safety Officer in addition to her Certified Laser Technician role. Tiffany Byres, LMA, CLT brings combined Medical Aesthetician and Certified Laser Technician training. Both teach energy-based and non-invasive treatment protocols nationally through Hartwater's affiliated CARE Institute. At Hartwater, your laser hair removal sessions are not delivered by rotating quick-service technicians. They are delivered by clinicians who teach other providers how to do this work.
Physician-Directed Medical Oversight
Every Hartwater treatment plan is reviewed by Scott Bradley Burris, MD, our Medical Director. This is the structural difference between a medical aesthetic practice and a quick-service laser hair removal franchise. Medical oversight matters more for laser hair removal than most patients realize, because adverse reactions, paradoxical hair growth, and skin tone safety judgment calls are clinical considerations that require physician backing.
Female Treatment Providers for Brazilian and Intimate Areas
Stephanie and Tiffany are both women. For many patients, particularly for Brazilian, bikini line, and intimate area treatments, a female treatment provider is a meaningful comfort and dignity factor. Hartwater does not require patients to specify a provider gender preference. The treatment team is structurally aligned with what most patients prefer for these treatments.
Continuity of Provider Across the Six-Session Course
Laser hair removal results are best when the same provider follows a patient through the full six-session protocol. The provider builds a treatment history, calibrates settings to the patient's specific response, and adjusts parameters across the series as the hair density and growth pattern shift. Quick-service laser hair removal providers typically rotate technicians session to session. Hartwater's two-CLT model preserves continuity.

WHAT TO EXPECT: YOUR LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT EXPERIENCE
Shave the treatment area 24 to 48 hours before each appointment. The hair root must be intact for the laser to work, so do not wax, pluck, or thread for at least four weeks before treatment. Avoid sun exposure to the treatment area for two weeks before and after each session. Avoid retinoids and topical exfoliants on the treatment area for one week prior. We discuss area-specific preparation guidance at consultation.
Your initial consultation is conducted by Lindsey Burris, RN, our Clinical Manager. The consultation evaluates your hair type, skin tone, and treatment goals. We confirm that laser hair removal is the right treatment for your case and discuss the appropriate package and area selection. If laser hair removal is not the right treatment for your concern, we say so and route accordingly.
Treatment sessions are delivered by either Stephanie Robertson, CLT or Tiffany Byres, LMA, CLT. Sessions last from approximately five minutes for a small area to closer to 60 minutes for a large area. The DiolazeXL applicator is positioned on the treatment area, and the laser is delivered in rapid pulses with built-in skin cooling.
Sessions are spaced approximately six weeks apart over the six-session protocol. Most patients see noticeable hair reduction within the first two to three sessions, with full results visible six months after the final session as the treated follicles complete their growth cycles. Patients with darker hair color or darker skin tone may benefit from additional sessions after the initial six, which we discuss after the protocol is complete.
Mild redness or warmth in the treatment area is normal for 24 to 48 hours after each session. Avoid sun exposure to the treated area for two weeks. Avoid heat sources, including hot tubs, saunas, and intense exercise, for 24 hours after treatment. Continue to shave the treated area between sessions, but do not wax, pluck, or thread at any point during your protocol. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily on any treated area exposed to the sun.

HOW MUCH DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL COST IN MCKINNEY, TX?
Laser hair removal at Hartwater requires multiple sessions to deliver results. We sell laser hair removal exclusively in packages of six sessions per treatment area, which matches our standard protocol. Single-session pricing is not displayed on the website. Spot maintenance treatments may be available at consultation following completion of an initial package, but the entry point into laser hair removal at Hartwater is always a six-session protocol.
Treatment areas are organized into three size tiers. Small Area covers chin, ears, upper lip, sideburns, hands, feet, and areola. Medium Area covers face full, chest, Brazilian, bikini line, underarms, neck, abdomen, derriere, and shoulders. Large Area covers full back, full arms, and full legs. The pricing table below reflects each tier.
Final treatment plans and exact pricing are confirmed during consultation. Some patients combine multiple areas into a single visit for efficiency, and combination pricing may apply.

BUILD A SELF-CARE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
Laser hair removal is one of several zero-downtime treatments that Hartwater patients integrate into ongoing self-care routines. Many patients combine their laser hair removal sessions with facial treatments for skin quality, dermaplaning for surface texture and peach fuzz removal that the laser cannot address, and IPL photofacials for pigmentation. We sequence these treatments thoughtfully to respect appropriate spacing between energy-based treatments and to support your broader maintenance goals.
