Sculptra is an FDA-approved injectable biostimulator made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible substance that has been used safely in medicine for decades. HOW SCULPTRA WORKS: COLLAGEN STIMULATION, NOT VOLUME PLACEMENT
When Sculptra is injected into the tissue, the poly-L-lactic acid microparticles act as a controlled stimulus that triggers your body's natural collagen-production response. Over the weeks and months following treatment, fibroblast cells in the surrounding tissue migrate to the injection sites and begin producing new collagen. The PLLA itself is gradually broken down and absorbed by the body, leaving behind the new collagen scaffold as the visible result. WHAT TO EXPECT: THE SCULPTRA TREATMENT TIMELINE

At each session, Lindsey reconstitutes the Sculptra vials with sterile saline and lidocaine, marks the treatment area carefully, and injects using a combination of needle and cannula technique appropriate to your anatomy. The injection itself takes 20 to 45 minutes depending on the number of vials and the areas treated.

Sculptra results are gradual. Immediately after treatment you may see temporary volume in the treated area from the saline carrier, which typically resolves within 2 to 5 days.
